Championing technology and innovation in “new normal” environment
Prof Paul Lever, CEO of Mining3, will be on the panel at AIMEX 2017, Asia-Pacific’s International Mining Exhibition in Sydney, Australia from the 29-31 August. He will take part in a panel interview themed: Championing technology and innovation in a ‘new normal’ environment.
The panellists, which include Jeanette McGill, Head of Telstra Mining Services and Steve Burgess, Executive General Manager Operations Excellence, Centennial Coal will discuss why mining companies should embrace technology and innovation to increase efficiencies, reduce costs and stay competitive.
In an interview with AIMEX, Paul provided a snapshot into his views on why innovation is so important:
“Mining is now in a transitioning phase. It won’t be a giant leap, but a series of steps that allows us to solve industry problems and improve efficiency and productivity. Innovation and automation hold the key to the future for mining companies globally. But as most mining companies have traditionally changed slowly, it could be a difficult path forward.
The focus now will be on latest technologies and getting the most out of them in terms of productivity. We are on the verge and need to develop a complete framework to transform how mining needs to operate and how we operate successful companies in that framework.”
AIMEX is a world class FREE to attend conference delivering operational improvements for all mining techniques and features over 300 suppliers showcasing their latest products.
