Mining3 Canada Update
The Mining3 office in Canada continues to make steady gains towards growing its presence in the North American market. Peter Kondos, former Senior Director – Strategic Solutions at Barrick and Mining3 committee member, joins Mining3 to assist in building relationships with existing members and increasing engagement with the mining industry.
Peter left Barrick in July 2018 and subsequently opened his own business, YaKum Consulting. While his focus will remain primarily on YaKum, Peter will work to increase the industries knowledge of Mining3’s projects and capabilities while seeking to establish consortiums in areas of common interest.
Mining3’s strength is in its 28-year history of providing innovation to the mining industry including spinoff companies SmartCap, GroundProbe, MineWare, Geomole and V2H. As well as a multitude of technology that has facilitated the development of innovate solutions. Leveraging the technology advancements and capability for the North American market will assist Mining3 members and the industry to increase their productivity, sustainability and safety. In addition, Mining3 is known for facilitating successful collaborations between the mining industry, original equipment manufacturers and research groups. A similar model is being used in Canada to engage research groups and the industry to accelerate solutions to industry identified challenges.
As the business grows, so has the need for new office space. Mining3 is now located at First Canadian Place, 100 King Street West, 56th Floor, Toronto.
